The BRM-1K is a BMP-1 based Command Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle.  This conversion creates a command reconnaissance vehicle from the NVA (East German Army) of the late production series most easliy identified by the inclusion of the Smoke Grenade launchers on the turret but removal (or lack of adding) the right side "box" behind the exhaust as seen in the early and mid series.  NVA specific parts are the "chocks" carried by the vehicle for rail transportation.
